We built a new 60′ x 30′ primary school building in Mon Kan this year for the 95 students in grades K-5.
Mon Kan
Mon Kan village is located in the Mandalay area and has a population of 750. The villagers farm beans and sesame. The school compound is 1.52 acres with grades 2-5 in an old 90′ x 25′ building constructed by the villagers in 1996. With a rusted tin roof and deteriorated wood frame, it is an unsafe structure. Grades K-1 were being taught outside.
