Htan Ma Gyi school has 51 students from grades K-5. The government will repair one of the old buildings for grades K-2 but the villagers requested a new 40′ x 30′ primary building for grades 3-5. As our final project for 2023, we built the new school and a new teachers’ cottage for them.
Htan Ma Gyi
Htan Ma Gyi is a small village in the Mandalay area with a population of 495. The villagers farm beans, corn, sesame, cotton, onion and rice. They also raise cows, sheep and goats. The existing school compound of just under an acre has several poor quality buildings.
