Ywa Thit Gone
Situated along a tar road about 17 miles east of Kalaw, this village has 652 Paoh tribespeople in 132 households. They are farmers and their main crop is chili plus they farm some corn, ginger and vegetables.
The 102 students are taught in two buildings, one with three rooms built by the government and the second is a very old building in bad shape. Built by the villagers more than 40 years ago, it has no windows, no ceiling and a roof filled with holes. The village also needs a teachers’ cottage. We are planning to build a new 60′ x 30′ school plus the teacher housing this year.
