Baw Nin Gone

Baw Nin Gone village has a population of 1,200 belonging to the Paho tribe.  Located about 16 miles southeast of Kalaw, the villagers farm rice, chile, ginger, garlic, and rap seed for cooking oil.

Baw Nin Gone has a leaky, old 72 x 24 school building constructed by the villagers in 1995. It has no ceiling or windows and is in very bad shape. Students have to take frequent breaks for fresh air. We have built a new 80′ x 30′ school and a new teachers’ cottage for them this year.
