There are 85 students taught in a small 45′ x 25′ school building built a long time ago by the villagers. The school has no ceiling or room dividers. There is also no teachers’ cottage. We are currently building a new 60′ x 30′ primary school and a new teachers’ cottage in Payar Phyu.
Payar Phyu is a Taung Yoe tribal village located about 24 miles from Kalaw. It has a population of about 650. The villagers farm rice, potatoes, garlic, corn, beans and ginger for their livelihood.
