Pyawetaung

This village is well known to us and was in great need of a new 90’ x 30’ high school building. Pyawetaung village is near Pyin Oo Lwin, a scenic town about an hour’s drive east from Mandalay up into the nearby hills. It is a large village containing 1,442 households with the main economic activities being the farming of corn and flowers plus brickmaking, carpentry and masonry.

We have previously built two school buildings in Pyawetaung, a primary school in 2012 and a middle school in 2014. There are currently 646 students in KG-Grade 8. Of these, 104 students are now in grade 8 and will be entering the high school level next year. We were very comfortable to be returning to this growing village and have completed the new high school building that will ensure that the students have complete KG to secondary school infrastructure locally.

During 2020, MBSPF built six new schools in the villages of Kyawe Kan, Pyawetaung, Gwe Tauk Pin, Da Naung Pin, Baw Nin Ywar Thit and Inn Mie. We also built our fourth new rural medical clinic in Kyaut Sint village.
